EVENT MANAGEMENT & FOUNDERS

The Meriton Sydney Invitational will be organized from start to finish by John Small, under the Sydney Invitational Pty Ltd banner with consultation from Peter Whigham (CSR/Meriton) and Peter Criss (PGA Professional at Gordon Golf Club).

John has over 25 years senior management experience specialising in the establishment and running of businesses, operations and events throughout Australia and Asia. Also a handy golfer of Plus 1 at Killara, John runs the Cadet program for the kids at Killara Golf Club, and in recent times has won the Australian, Victorian and Queensland Senior Open Amateur Championships.

Neil, a CPA, and a flithy burgular off a 6 handicap, has been an accountant for 30 years and runs a mid-size accounting practise called, Levy Warren Associates in Artarmon. Neil is a member of Monash and Gordon and enjoys nothing more than to take John's money on the golf course. Neil's work behind the scenes with regards entries, BAS, tax, GST and everything administrative ensures the smooth running of the Sydney Invitational.

Back in 2004, Neil Warren and John Small had a vision to create Australia's largest charity Pro-am.

In six short years they have achieved that goal. Today the Sydney Invitational sees 256 players competing, for the largest Pro-am purse in Australia ($137,500 professional purse, as well as amateurs competing for prizes and trophies worth more than $30,000).

Neil's work behind the scenes has been invaluable to building the solid foundations of the event, and his tireless charity work has ensured that the event has raised in excess of $300,000 for charity.
